ABOUT

Kirsty was encouraged to be creative from a young age and her natural talent for sewing was demonstrated when she began making clothes for her dolls as a child.

Textiles was always a favourite subject during her school years and she knew that she wanted to pursue this further. Kirsty spent three years learning and refining her skills at Rose Bruford College in London, graduating in 2011 with a first class BA(Hons) in Costume Production.

Kirsty began her career working at renowned bridal boutique Halfpenny London making bespoke wedding dresses. She later worked extensively for Miss Kay Seamstress based in Tunbridge Wells, providing alterations on hundreds of bridal dresses and creating made to measure gowns.

Alongside her role as an independent bridal seamstress, Kirsty has worked extensively as a freelance costume maker. She has made costumes for a vast range of productions including West End musical 42nd Street, the 2017 Disney film Beauty and the Beast, His Dark Materials (BBC) and Bridgerton (Netflix)

Kirsty prides herself on providing an exceptional finish on any job she completes, whether it is a small tweak to make a dress fit ‘just right’ or a complex, detailed costume that will appear in HD on the big screen.
